I use floral motifs within figurative and still life compositions as vehicles to help me investigate postpartum challenges, family dynamics, domestic roles, and childhood through the eyes of a parent.

My recent transition into motherhood has given me a deep need to process that experience through my art.

My messy, sketchy, and sometimes abstract pieces are a direct response to the tumultuous nature of having and raising a child, and the complex role of being a primary caregiver.

It’s also a result of my process exploding out of me quickly as I work to capitalize on the limited time I have to make art. This domestic context is not a distraction from my work but a primary driver of its aesthetic.

The goals of my work are twofold:

1 - To demonstrate that any process, in and of itself, is valuable, beautiful, and the essential substance of art and the sustenance of life.

2 - To elevate the discourse surrounding maternal caregiving as a serious social contribution and as a conceptually valid subject within the arts.
