I am so excited for you to receive your new piece!

To ensure it arrives in pristine condition, it has been carefully rolled with glassine (an archival paper used for protection when shipping and storing artwork), and shipped in a protective tube.

Because the paper and media have been rolled for a few days, they will have a bit of "memory" and will want to curl back up. Here are some simple tips to help your painting settle comfortably into its new home!

Before handling the work, please ensure your hands are clean and dry. Mixed media can be sensitive to the natural oils on our skin, so handling the piece by the edges is always best.

Slowly Unroll!

Find a flat, clean, and dry surface (a large table is perfect). Carefully remove the painting from the tube and let it begin to unroll naturally. Don't force it to lay flat immediately if it feels resistant.

Let it Rest!

Keep the painting face down on a clean surface and on top of the protective paper it arrived in. Place a few smooth, heavy objects—like large books—on the corners and in the center. Let it sit like this for 24 to 48 hours. This allows the fibers to relax without any stress.

Displaying & Beyond!

Professional Framing: If you take it to a local framer, they will normally handle the flattening process for you, so it would be worth checking with them first.

Matting: If you are framing it yourself, I recommend matting the piece so it has "room to breathe" in its frame. I've found some pretty great deals for custom mat boards on Etsy! There are usually local-to-you sellers that cater to your area specifically and will deliver quickly.

I can’t wait to see the piece in your space! If you share a photo on Instagram, please feel free to tag me—it’s truly my favorite part of the process.
